About the course

Dynamic, engaging and interactive way to learn the basics of Mandarin Chinese – the 4 series Survival Chinese workshop is designed for newcomers and visitors to China and for those who need basic Chinese language skills to get by in daily situations. Taught by dedicated teachers with the goal to send you out with the knowledge of the four tones, pinyin, basic words and local expressions, along with giving you some useful cultural tips and tricks! Students are encouraged to speak and practice during the class as much as possible to prepare them for real-life situations!

Workshop 1  - Small Talk: It all starts with Ni Hao… With the Small Talk Workshop learn the basics how to introduce yourself, ask basic information about people and a few cultural tips!

Workshop 2 – Ordering Food: Reading a Chinese menu card is one of the key skills one can master while being in China. Learn how to read a menu, order food and make sure you get what you want without MSG or other frequently added ingredients!

Workshop 3 – Getting Around Beijing: Learn the essential vocabulary of getting around Beijing, ordering a taxi and asking and receiving directions.

Workshop 4 – Shopping: You cannot imagine daily Beijing life without having to bargain in local markets and stores. With this workshop you will learn the vocabulary and tips and tricks to get you a good deal!

Schedule

Saturdays 10.00 – 11.50 ( 2 x 50 minute lesson sessions with a 10 minute break in-between)

Fee



The fee for each session is 150RMB payable in advance, or you can purchase the complete course of 4 sessions for 500RMB. Bring a friend and each of you pays only 100 RMB per session!  See our terms and conditions before signing up.
