Our Portuguese Study Programs

Culture Yard’s Portuguese classes focus on learning the language and introducing Brazilian culture. Students will concentrate on their Portuguese speaking abilities along with vocabulary, grammar, listening, reading, and writing. Our Brazilian Portuguese teacher, Sabrina, comes from a background of human resources training in addition to language teaching in Brazil, she offers valuable information on doing business and working in Brazil as well as business communication skills in Portuguese.

Culture Yard currently offers intensive weekday and weekend Portuguese group courses as well as private VIP classes. Group study courses are based on the methods of the “Falar… Ler… Escrever… Português: Um Curso para Estrangeiros” Portuguese study book in addition to other materials to offer you diverse, interesting and interactive language classes. During the classes students are encouraged to speak Portuguese as much as possible.

Conversational Portuguese Group Courses:

Beginner (A1.1) and Beginner 2 (A1.2): Aimed at students who have no or very basic knowledge of the Portuguese language. The course structure focuses on the present tense, and gives a basic introduction to students on the grammar and sentence structure used for conversation.

Low Intermediate 1 (A2.1) and Low Intermediate 2 (A2.2): Previous knowledge of the fundamentals of the Portuguese language required. The intermediate courses are designed for students to achieve a higher conversational skill. By the end of the Low Intermediate 2 students will be able to write emails and letters in past and present tense.

Intermediate 1 (B1.1) and Intermediate 2 (B1.2): Intermediate level students should feel confident with their Portuguese conversational skills. Topics covered across the intermediate levels are the vocabulary, conversational skills and future tense sentence structure. Over the B1.1 and B1.2 you will study the imperative, subjunctive and move onto the passive tense.

High-Intermediate and private classes: Available upon request.

Private Courses: For those of you interested in private learning, Culture Yard’s Portuguese teacher will build the perfect program to address your learning needs.We offer a service where we can schedule private classes in your office without an extra charge if it is within Haiden, Dongcheng, Xicheng and Chaoyang.

Working in/with Brazil: With more than ten years of experience in Human Resources in Brazil, our Portuguese teacher can give you tailor-made advice on how to find employment, how to apply for a job and how to do a job interview in Brazil.
