Culture Yard’s new Advanced Business English course is designed for advanced English learners. It takes you beyond basic business communication and develops your professional skills in English oral and written communication, from meetings and negotiations to written reports. Students will gain the skills and techniques they need to ensure they can work effectively with international colleagues and business partners. The course is specially tailored for Culture Yard students based on but the foundation of the course lies in ‘Communicating across Cultures’ – a brand new business skills coursebook combining English communication skills training with professional language development.
Course duration: 45 hours (15 weeks)

1. Developing intercultural skills − Describing corporate culture − Developing flexible thinking to deal with intercultural problems
2. Managing first meetings − Communication strategies for handling first meetings − Understanding attitudes towards small talk
3. Communicating effectively − Communicating messages with good and bad news sensitively − Learn phrases which help to manage conversations more effectively
4. Managing international meetings − Manage decision making process effectively in meetings − Manage difficult communicators in meetings
5. Writing minutes of meetings − Practice reporting and summarising language − Learn how to draft official minutes
6. Becoming a better listener − To learn ways to clarify when listening − Learn to listen more effectively
7. Presenting across cultures − Learn how to customise your message for different audiences − How to respond to questions after presentations
8. Writing emails − Deal with the challenge of writing emails internationally − Learn advanced techniques for communicating sensitively
9. Business reports − Learnthestagesofwriting agoodreport − Learn the formal phrases necessary for profeesional writing
10. Negotiating across cultures − Learn ways to create a clear negotiation process − Learn language for influencing

Advanced Business English Skills focus:
